My Pencil Case

I love it! I shouted.  My pencil case has a plus with dots inside of the plus. My pencil case has butterflies, flowers and stripes. It has a puzzle pen and puzzle ruler, 4 rubbers, 10 pencils, 2 pens, 1 calculator and 1 pencil sharpener. Mum got it for me as a birthday present. I got it last year.

Floggy

I have compled the 100 books read challenge. What an amazing effort. Floggy is the name of my frog. I used beads. 7 egg shape beads. I put a frog on Floggys tounge. Floggy has big big eyes. I sewed her with red thead. Blue hoppers that look like duck feet.

The Princess And The Pea

Once upon a time there lived a princess in a carriage. She was thrown off the carriage when the horses that were pulling the carriage went too fast and the carriage wheel went over a stone and cracked. Oh no! The princess fell into a ditch with mud in it. It's raining it's pouring. She says ‘it feels like I'm getting poured on with a jug’. She went to the nearest place. The place was a palace.  She stayed their for the night and before she went to bed the queen put a pea under the mattress, then she puts lots of other mattresses on top of it.  Then the princess went to bed but she couldn’t sleep because of the pea under her mattress.  She tossed and turned to see if she could flatten out the lump, but she couldn’t.  The  End.       

The Cattery

I like cats. Yesterday I went to Anna's house and went to the cattery and played with the cats. I played with Nelly, Mia but not Basil. I know how to hold a cat. All the cats are big.

Play Centre

Whoosh!! Ow! Hahahaha I fell on my bum at the bottom of a slide.  The slide makes you as fast as lightning (that is really fast).  At play centre there is a playground with a slide.  The slide was green and fast.  The play centre was in Gisborne.

Goldilocks And The Three Bears

Once upon a time there lived a girl called Goldie.  Goldie is her short name for bears.  Baby bears name is Jack.  Goldie met up with her bear by going home a different way by walking past homes.  One day she found an old FREAKY house.  The house had a mouse, webs, slime and old smelly tape.  Mama bears name is Freek.  Dada bears name is Cockroach.  "Grrrr someone's been eating my porridge said Papa bear.  "Someone has eaten mine and gobbled it all up" said baby bear.  "At least we can sit down" they said, but they could not because all the chairs have been sat on.  Baby bears chair was broken! But......oh no!  They can't sleep because all the beds have been slept on.  Baby bears bed had the girl in it.  "Ahhhhhh!" screamed Goldie.  I need to get out she thought so she ran to the nearest window and.....guess what happened next?  Yes you got it she jumped out of the window and slid down the pipe and ran home.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5….. yesterday after school I counted the rings on trees. I found a tree that was 45 years old (two years older than dad). The trees that got cut down have been there ever since I have lived there. The trees meant lots to us. I wish they never ever cut the trees down. Mum said that they might be building houses.

My Dream House

My dream house is red, black and blue. My dream house is a three story house. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two toilets and three play rooms. A nice big blue kitchen, one dining room and three living rooms. My room has a three layered bunk bed for me and my dream sister and my imaginary friend Sara.

My Freaky Moment

When me and dad were in the garage working we smelt a bad smell. Ah! It s a rat. I’m getting away. “Leah it’s dead” said dad.

Phew! I am glad it’s dead.  Mum heard the noise. “What's that noise”said mum.

“Leah freaking out”, whispered dad. Mum said “Leah's freaking out on what”? A dead rat. She did not know it was dead. Dad held the rat by it’s tail. Dad let me hold the rat. “No thanks’’.

Birthday Time

My Birthday

On Saturday it is my birthday at the Rumpus Room. I am going to have a amazing cake (well I do not know what cake I am having so I can not say amazing). Lauren is coming, Shyla, Mischa and Ebony. Maybe Leilani too. Four more days until my birthday. I hope I get some roller blades.

Hide And Seek

On Saturday night Marilyn and Helmet, Erin and Ethan came for dinner.  Before we had dinner together we played hide and seek.  I hid in the house because it was too soggy outside.  I hid behind a pillow, a little toy stage with a stuffed toy basket and a big bed.  Ethan was trying to find me but he could not find me because I hid behind two pillows and a big toy.  I stayed there about two whole minutes.

Facts About Worms

Worms do not like citrus like lemons, mandarins and oranges because the worms might dye. The only citrus the worms like is kiwi fruit. The worms can not be overloaded otherwise the worms will never eat what we give them. We can give them apples, carrots, plums, watermelons, grapes, lettuce and bananas. Worms like to hide.

Maths

Today the pyramids did some basic maths problems. I love basic maths. I wish I could do basic maths all the time because it is so fun.  Math is amazingly fun. Basic maths is when you make math families by making sums like 5 plus 6 equals 11 and making the biggest number to make it a new number by taking another number away.

Thunder Storm

Last night there was a humongous thunderstorm. I saw thirty-one thrashes of lightning. Me and mum watched the lightning in my playroom. I was a little bit scared because I saw lots of lightning and the lightning was freaky and super scary. The lightning kept me awake it was annoying. I like thunderstorms because they are cool. Thunderstorms are cool and creepy.

In The Weekend

In the weekend I  went on my trampoline and did some handstands, cartwheels and flips. I also played no touch ball. To play no touch ball you need a ball and more than one person to play. Now if you touch the ball you chuck the ball in the air. You need a hoop so the ball has a home to get ready until you start bouncing. The ball bounced as high as the sky.

Laya's Birthday Party

Yay! I might go to Laya's birthday party.  I do not know where the party is going to be.  I hope it will be a splendid party.  Last time Laya had a Bowl-a-rama party.  Me and Laya's party friends all got to do bowling and that was a lot of fun.  I liked Laya's party last year.

Have you captured the beauty of the rock pool creature that you observed?

Yes.  Someone took a photo at the rockpools of the cat's eye so I  looked at the photo carefully and for a long time to make sure that I was going to draw it properly.  I captured that it had a big eyepiece near the side and that it had a big spiral on the outside of the shell with little scratch marks near the eye.

How difficult was it to transfer the patterns from your observational drawing to your Batik?

Really difficult because the hot wax was so runny and it wasn’t getting on the paper in time before I could start drawing. It was dripping out of the Tjanting before I could draw on my cloth.

My Play Date

Tomorrow I am going to Mabel’s house. I will swim in their deep pool. They said I will need a life jacket because it’s deeper than the school pool. I wonder how deep that is? We will be playing in the garden. After we could play inside with her dolls.  Maybe we will play with her cat. Mabel has a hut. I hope me and Mabel can play in her hut. I am not staying overnight. I don't know how long I am staying though. I’m sure we will have fun.
